I noticed that you can once again open the treasure chest/buried treasures & Do not touch.
At least for me and some friends. But I suppose for all.
Now I was wondering how long we have to wait before they open again. Does anyone know that, or is it just random?

I don't think everyone on the server is on the same "schedule". I know it was two months between the first and second time I could open them.

Well in early april i tested them with my characters and i was able to get all of the chests with 4 diff characters and a bit later my 5th one. So i'm pritty true that its reset around a month or so, But if you play a character alot, it takes longer for them to reset becuase on my main warrior i still can't get them and its been a while since i opened them with him.

Ok, that is weird. I can open a chest outside of AC, go back into town, and head back and open the treasure chest. So I was under the assumption that it resets every time there's an instance. It did this last night with my wife in the party and two henchmen. Or are we talking about two different things?

Yes, Tannim; two different things.
For the wintersday even, elona saw a new type of "chest" added. Treasure, as it is known isn't labeled "<region adjective> chest" but as "Do Not Touch" or "Buried Treasure". see guildwiki for more info

Nobody knows the REAL rules for chest resets. It appears to be account-based or character-based.

Myself, I'm testing whether I'll be able to open a 4th time next month. It will be more than 32 days after the last runs; more than 32 days after my last testing of the chests.

I was able to open a chest 30 days after first opening it with the same character. When I tried running another character through (who had opened prior to 30 days for THAT character) I was unable.

My roommate, when I informed him of the apparent chest reset was able to run all his characters through them again, though he did the initial run earlier than myself, so each character had had more than 30 days cool down.

So, at least based upon my observations, it's a 30 day (+/-) cool down between characters, not account-based.

I've only been able to reopen chests on two of my toons. With the others nothing has been available to them since February. So based on that I don't think the 30 day rule seems to apply all that well. But then again my luck with getting any thing decent, drops, etc., is pathetic.

Gaile Gray has mentioned that you should start your test with the one furthest into the game that you can reach. After you have opened 3-4 with the same character each month, content quality goes down.
